One of our favorite things to do in life is eating. Eating is an activity that’s fun and we get nutrition’s into our body that way. From food, our bodies turn nutrition’s into different subsets of proteins and amino acids which are the building blocks of muscles and tissues. Eating heals hunger and eating heals problems in our bodies. But sometimes some people have hard time eating food. They have hard time pretty much with most food they try to eat. It seems like an odd obsession at the beginning. We sometimes think that if an individual is trying to avoid eating food that means that specific person is on some kind of a special diet. However we never consider the fact that there is a disorder out there that does not let people eat food. They do eat food but at a much less amount. We call this disorder eating disorder. It’s actually a serious problem than most people give it credit for.

So let’s discuss further what this disorder is. Eating is controlled by a lot of factors, such as appetite, family, peer, and cultural practices. In today’s modern society eating less than usual has become a fashion. This is really not a healthy idea but it’s still being done. Dieting to a body weight leaner than needed for health is highly promoted by current fashion trends and sales. Eating disorders primarily involves serious turbulence in eating behavior, such as extreme decline of food intake or some feelings of distress or extreme concern about one’s body image. Scientists are examining how and why these kind of behaviors exists in the first place. Studies on the basic understanding of food control and its changing habit has revealed very little on this issue. It’s a serious psychological problem that would need years of psycho therapy. In the long run this disorder has the potential to lead to new pharmacologic treatments for eating disorders.
